Truefood Black-Eye Beans are NON – GMO, also known as black-eyed peas or cowpeas, black-eyed beans are part of the legume family and can be used in a variety of dishes.
Once cooked, they develop a dense, creamy consistency with an earthy flavour. This makes them an excellent addition to a well-rounded vegan or vegetarian diet.

Black-Eye Beans (100%)
Product of Madagascar and/or South Africa
*Certified Kosher and Halaal
Packed in a facility that processes cow’s milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts and significant cereals (gluten).
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, ensure the inner bag is sealed tightly.
Cooking instructions
To soak overnight – Rinse and cover with water in a non-metal container. Leave to stand for 12 hours.
Quick soak – Cover black-eye beans with water (about 2cm above the beans), microwave for 3 minutes on high and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Cook as described below.
Cooking method – Rinse well, cover with a generous amount of water and simmer gently for 1 ¬Ω hours until done
Cooking tip – Only mix in salt and vegetables when the beans begin to soften
